In Feb 2006 I made the biggest move of my life. I left sunny So Cal and landed in fabulous NYC. Not knowing how long I would stay or how well I would adjust I just went with it and am determined to enjoy every moment I can. This blog will chronical my NY experiences and hopefully highlight the reasons I decided to make such a daring move. Enjoy!!!

Good Times Ahead

One of the things I love best about living in a new city is there is always something to look forward to. I don't think I am a girl who requires much to entertain myself. Maybe a little beer, some good friends, yummy food, learning something new, and laughter. Yes, that would about do it. The coming month or two is full of some great plans for me. I am excited.

This weekend Ashki comes to visit me. I love this woman. She is the embodiment of a great time and we really see eye to eye on what consists of a good time. :) She arrives Saturday and we will probably do some typical touristy things. We are actually going to see the Empire State Building for the first time. The skies are clear so that should make for some great pictures. Stay tuned for those.

I am starting to tutor a 4th grader hopefully this weekend. This is a great opportunity to get my feet wet and make some extra cash. That should keep me busy for a couple weeks. I am working on developing my website for Miss K Tutoring as well. My goal is to have it up and running in the next month. YAY! I have been applying for tutoring jobs through companies in New York as well. I am hoping to take on 4 students a week.

I am also taking a much needed long weekend trip home to Cali in two weeks. I was supposed to go (See blog below) for St. Patrick's day and my sisters birthday, but the trip was delayed. The beach and some girl time with Chrissy and my sis are on top of the menu!!

Now that Spring decided to show up in the city, I am going to get back to Central Park on the weekends to take pics and draw. I am looking forward to this especially since my creative side has been on vacation for quite some time. I might even sign up to take a class at the park. Not sure what kind, but whether its art, tai chi, or photography...I want to start something new.

I made a pact with myself a few days ago during a little meltdown. I need to start really concentrating on me. I want to get back into my creativity and start doing things that I came to NY to do other than drinking and wasting money, that is! I look forward to more blogs about how this works out. :)

Cheers!
